Wanted to get some opinions. I am getting married in June and taking the July bar. I currently do nothing in law school besides drink. Is it a dumb idea to think I can start studying for the bar in March and April so I will have slightly more free time in June?

Yes because you'll do most of your studying for the bar in July. Don't bother, it's not worth it.

I agree that you're going to do the bulk of your studying in July. Personally, I also found the bar to be an exercise in cramming/brute memorization, which I can only retain short-term. I suppose if you run through the material in April, you'll have an easier time re-learning/memorizing it in July. If you really have nothing else to do, it's not like it's going to hurt you - it's probably not really necessary though. (Depends also on what bar course you're doing and when they get the materials to you.)

You might want to start early so you can watch the videos and fill out the outlines or at least get the MBE subjects completed. You might also not want to dick around because the bar is already stressful and you don't want to be stressed because you feel like you don't have enough time.
