The real question is whether it is worth it to take on the risk of assuming additional debt by attending the law school you will be able to get into with your UGPA. It is likely to be an awfully large cost for poor career prospects.

I'm starting 1L next month also, so I'll let you know in a year. I've got high hopes, though - UG was 25 years ago, and at the time, I kind of took a "pass/fail" attitude toward all of my courses (with predictable GPA results). I did worlds better in my master's degree five years ago, though, and TLS has scared me enough that I know how important LS grades are.cach22 wrote: I'm starting LS (T20 for what it's worth) next month. I didn't do so well in UG for a bunch of reasons. Went to a prestigious university out of state; it took me a while to adjust to university's culture; I had trouble figuring out how make up for the ground lost during a lackluster secondary education while striking a proper social/academic balance.
Considerings its 3 weeks left before 1L starts, I was looking for some insight from others who may have also had bittersweet memories of undergrad yet managed to/are managing to do well (top 1/3 - top 10%) in LS.
Cheers.
Just trying hard is no guarantee in law school.ScottRiqui wrote:I'm starting 1L next month also, so I'll let you know in a year. I know, but the stakes aren't quite the same for me, either, so it's a pretty good risk. I'm just saying that I'm not viewing my early-90s UG experience as a death knell for my LS career.Desert Fox wrote:Just trying hard is no guarantee in law school.ScottRiqui wrote:I'm starting 1L next month also, so I'll let you know in a year. - bored/anxious about starting LS, and figuring out how to turn it around myself - although undergrad is 3 years behind
thanks for you input
I'm guessing the one from NU.slackademic wrote:Give details.Desert Fox wrote:There is a sub 3.0 UG splitter clerking for SCOTUS right now.
Or not, if it's outing the person.
