Is the Beermann treatise really the consensus only choice?

I suppose I'll buy it but wondered what else is out there (is the E & E good, for example?)

I don't think i've ever heard it described as the "only" choice. I, however, can attest that I found it to be a quality supplement. I know that Kalvano also strongly endorses it.

I recommend the Beermann book because it's extremely well-done, got me an A, and have gotten numerous messages from people who used it based on my recommendation and also did well in their class.

There are plenty of choices out there, so go with what works for you. But it's got a solid track record. It was probably the most useful supplement I used in law school.

It's shorter than some of the others, but that's a plus in my book and admin doesn't have that much material to cover.

Well, I've ordered the Beermann. Two supplements I've heard raved about like that before: Acing Civil Procedure and Chemerinsky Con Law.

Did well in Civ Pro and Average in Con Law. here's hoping for more of the former

If it hasn't been updated, it's at least 3 years old now, so just keep that in mind. I am not certain if there have been any important admin law developments since then or not. There might be some changes with Chevron with the Arlington case, plus Noel Canning too. Just something to keep in mind.

i used the E&E. loved it. it was great for developing a black letter foundation. you'll have to go back and fill in some of the holes by yourself afterward, but worth reading.

The Emanuels Administrative law outline was pretty good.
