I go to a school where legal reasoning and writing isn't graded. I feel like getting an A in any other class is more important than winning best oral brief or grabbing honors. As such, I have been putting substantially more time into my other courses. I wanted to make sure I wasn't wrong about this. A's> Best Oral argument?

You put your GPA on your resume, so focus on whatever impacts your GPA. Just don't fail.

anywhere from "not important at all" to "as important as maybe one CALI award."

You might want to use a writing sample from your legal writing class. If you do, might as well do it well before it's graded rather than turn in shit and fix it up later.
