Tips for reviewing last semester's exams

Have a couple of appointments tomorrow to look over old exams (not with the Professor - they arrange for an answer key / model answer to be provided).
For those of you who were able to improve your exam performance, what were some of the things you looked for and were able to improve on? I plan on checking to see what specific issues I missed, but obviously the actual issues are specific to each course so I'm not 100% confident that it will translate to this semester's exams.
