Texas Bar Exam: timely vs. absolute deadline for application

Just found out I will be working in TX upon graduation (I'm an out-of-stater). Is there any difference between the "timely filing deadline" (Jan 30) and the "absolute postmark deadline" (March 30) besides the $150 fee? I couldn't find a petition form for filing late. Thanks in advance!
(I apologize if I missed the TX bar exam thread when I did a forum search)

Just the fee and the fact that you may have to take the bar without a C&F approval letter.

Thanks a lot for the response - that's what I figured. Does having the C&F approval letter before taking the exam matter besides peace of mind?

Are you a convicted serial murderer? It shouldn't be a big deal, it there are any big red flags, they'll get back to you quickly.

Not convicted yet - I stopped counting at 22.... No shouldnt be any issues along C&F lines - was just worried I had missed the boat because the rules were vague.

Nah, you're fine. Just be prepared for shelling out a bunch of cash for all their fees.
