Top Law Schools

Perhaps hate is too strong of a word, but most people, from reading online, seem to claim they dislike law school. I am in my second semester as a 1L in a T14 and starting to realize how much I don't actually like law school. I have reading cases, getting called on, doing issue spotters, etc. I'm starting to think of dropping out, but I'm not sure if everyone who should be here and is here "enjoys" law school or if everyone just kind of suffers through it and I need to toughen up.

Any advice?

OP here. I agree, LRW is pretty cool an interesting, but reading cases really just sucks the life out of me.

It also seems like every person you talk to face-to-face claims that enjoy law school. I feel like its all BS

I genuinely dislike law school. The way it makes every little thing you do stressful as all hell gets old fast.

I feel the same way...spring semester has been extremely difficult to get back into the flow of things. I've been tricking my mind into thinking it's a "game" with a ridiculous amount of rules i need to learn and the winner of the "game" gets to buy a Tesla, look sharp, get girls, and an awesome house on the beach.....oh and fight for justice lol...

Law school is awesome. Being around hot bishes all the time and not having to actually work. The subject matter is also interesting.

When I started law school, I kind of shrugged when people asked if I liked it. Now I'm in my second semester of 2L and my response is still a shrug. Maybe I'll decide by the time I graduate. I can tell you that so far I like the looks of this semester MUCH more than my past three.

I enjoyed certain classes and aspects of law school, but overall it sucked. Real practice is way, way better.

Nuanced for me. I actually really like studying law, but I hate how much my career trajectory depends on seven exams and the way that makes me feel.

I liked law school fine (but am a huge nerd), but I hated being a student.

I actually don't mind it much. Essentially getting paid to study and learn shit seems like a good deal to me.

How is this true? Unless you are being sarcastic?

School is the opposite of being paid - I worked before I came to law school in consulting, and made decent money, which I am exactly not making now. In fact, I'm spending a very substantial amount while making nothing.

Also, learn shit.. yes, theoretically that is true, but I'm not sure how relevant it is to either our grades, or our practice.

As far as I'm concerned, law school has its benefits, but its not really better than working. It's like a more stressful and time-consuming undergrad without the total awesomeness of college, and I can't even really work part time as a 1L.

For these reasons, I'm actually very excited to practice, but law school? very mehh.

This is a tough question, because some people are just whiners and it's hard to tell how much they really hate something, and complaining is a social activity, and sometimes you pretend to be sick of or annoyed by something just to fit in. Or you pretend to like something to look a certain way. Bottom line is you're not alone either way.
