Was accepted Navy JAG last year and was wondering if anyone had any information on duty stations. I am interested in doing operational law and was wondering if certain locations lend themselves more to getting that type of billet than others. thanks

You won't really have much of a choice. When you talk to your detailer, ask for something operational and if you're lucky, you'll get it. Reality is most JAGs are shore-bound. That's just the nature of the needs of what the Navy needs you for. You'll more than likely start off in a fleet concentration area to begin with, work on a staff with other lawyers, help you acclimatize to the job. Most likely San Diego, Washington (state), Norfolk or Hawaii.
Enjoy Newport while it lasts
And congrats on your commission to the world's finest Navy!

I will kind of latch on to what he just said. Regardless of what the recruiters spew at you, where you end up (location wise) and what type of work you are doing is going to be LARGELY "needs of the navy."
