Is it normal for everyone to get sick. There is nonstop coughing during my classes now and everyone is sick. I'm even feeling a little down. Is this normal 1L year around this time?

Law students have the strangest questions.

What is your plan if it's not normal?

Makes it easy to spot the gunners--just look for the bottles of Purell.

Hope everyone else gets sick so it evens everything out

Also, the law school is a whole new population from all over the country carrying new strains of stuff you haven't caught yet. Just like the first few months of kindergarten.

Everyone at my school gets sick at the same time every winter. It starts with the kids in the on-campus dorm, and the pestilence spreads from that vile warren throughout the rest of the school in no time.

It's because law students are generally weaker, frail physically. Usually people like this have shit immune systems. Since you're picking from a sample of people that have shitty immune systems and weaker physically, it just appears that they get sick more than the general public.

OP, I dealt with the same thing last year. If you don't want to get median pwned, you must force yourself to get sick now, so you won't be sick during finals. Seriously, just go up and suck face with the first person you see coughing.

Yes, it's normal. You combine heavy stress with a lack of sleep, exercise and poor nutrition and people get sick. I was very worried about this last year and managed to stay relatively healthy. Honestly, being sick this time of year will fuck you. If you're not sick, and you know the people next to you are sick I would change seats. You could smooth it over with him/her by being really nice when they are not sick. If you know what you need to do on the test at this point, I would personally not attend class till the flu dies over.

It seems like many older students use this portion of the forum as a way of picking on younger students as some kind of dorky initiation process. Time now is worth 10x what it was in September. Getting sick would blow. Don't get sick. This is why all that stuff about keeping balanced is key.

Like a couple of other people have said: you're going to get sick. Better now than in about 3-5 weeks, or whenever your exams are.

1. Get your doctor to preemptively prescribe antibiotics.
2. Take them every day and watch everyone else get sick around you while you remain mysteriously healthy.
