Just curious to see how much debt (if any) other fellow law students are anticipating graduating with?

I go to a T2 in NYC, I will graduate with roughly $80,000 (20,000 undergrad, 60,000 law school).

$15,000 but that was a long time ago.

EDIT: and that was too much!

this would probably work better with a poll, if you specifically want to know how much debt TLSers are graduating with. Otherwise you'll find better results just googling

Don't feel bad. I have 400k. However, it is manageable. There are several programs that will make sure your monthly payment is reasonable and you will be able to survive. Just make sure to 1) have a plan to payoff the loans, and 2) DONT MISS ANY PAYMENTS.

How did you accumulate 400k?

How did you accumulate 400k?
Expensive UG at full tuition and all loans?
But I can't see any situation where 400k is worth it.

The only way to rack up that much undergrad debt at Harvard is if your parents make a ton of money and don't help you out at all. The financial aid is very generous in most cases.

15Kish undergrad (state school), 90-100kish from law school when it's all said and done. Getting 20k off tuition a year and living at my grandmothers so that helps.

half way to graduation at 85k, should be 185K by graduation hoping to be closer to 170-175K through working during year and summer work. Plan on working for gov't after grad (fed or state). PAYE program all-day, 10 years...cya

Depends. It should be somewhere just above 100k, but my parents have offered to pay my debt for me in lieu of providing me with an inheritance. Given the interest rate on loans and the comfort of having the debt taken off my back immediately, I'm tempted to accept.

Do people really make arrangements like this?

Well, I'm "people" and I'm considering making this kind of arrangement. Not sure how common it is, but my parents are... unique.
As my mother put it: better to give with a warm hand than a cold one
