Fed Jurisdiction and the E and E are good. Use them together because each book has certain sections that are inadequate, but better in the other book. Ex: Fed Jurisdictions federal common law section is good, but the E and E's section on the same subject sucks. The E and E's section on abstention is really good while Fed Jurisdictions section kinda sucks.

+1 for the Chemerinsky treatise. This is probably not what you're looking for, but I found the notes/squibs in Hart & Wechsler to be really helpful as well.
