1. Should you list it on your resume that you dropped out? And if so, any strategies on how to list it to make it seem not so bad?
2. If it were you, what would you say on your cover letter to explain why you dropped out?
3. Any of you know what types of careers those who have dropped out are now pursuing? (I'm thinking maybe law enforcement, marketing, or something in writing/research)

You did not tell us what you dropped out of. If you dropped out of law school I would not put it on your resume.

Yeah there is nothing positive about dropping out, never bring it up.

1. Ordinarily, as in almost 100% of the time, no you do not want to put it on the resume. . . If something life shattering happened like death of very close family member, or the like, MAYBE.
2. I would not address it at all. Assuming you went straight from UG to LS, I would try to put any position (even unpaid) you might have had during LS on the resume. Overall ignore any reference to LS at all in the cover letter, and focus instead on the job you apply for.
3. All of those I know who dropped out went back to their old jobs (second career students). I would browse these forums for more insight... My guess is just starting out on the temp bandwagon like most UG grads... You can still play up the fact that the economy sucks so while 1 year of no job is a red-flag, you can couch it so its not that bad.
