Does anyone know if people or bar prep companies predict stuff for the IL bar? I've seen stuff for CA and NYC.

Does the Illinois bar even release anything? The website is awful! I only know what has been previously tested because I had to pay $225 for the Essay Advantage class

Illinois actually lets you keep the essay questions when you leave the testing location. Sorry I threw mine out, but in 2011 what I can remember being tested on was a Partnership question (straightforward), a Secured Transaction question (a little bit complicated because it involved a security interest that could only be perfected in a certain way - not filing); a straightforward Civ Pro with sub questions that dealt with differences between IL Civ Pro and Federal Civ Pro - I am pretty sure service of process was on there and the effect of a final judgment.

Generally, I tend to agree with the THEMIS people when they say that provided you know the majority rule, the IL distinctions are not that important. Unfortunately, I have no idea how I did on the bar, they only tell you if you passed. If you fail, then you get more information.

Any ideas on Suretyship will be on there? I ask because I don't think my mind has room for any more material and it seems like an obscure topic. tia

I am thinking of blowing off admin law. I don't think it will show up. Does anyone else have any thoughts? To the previous poster yes, I think wills or trusts or both is likely.

Does anyone have a sense of what a 3 / 5 essay would look like? I know Barbri's essay graders are supposed to be no good, but they have me a little concerned...

BarBri says that Federal Taxation is literally never tested and suretyship is rarely tested on (but as someone else said, was tested this past February, but I think that probably means we won't see it). Conflicts is almost never its own question but can appear within in the context of another question.

Wills is almost certainly to be one of the essay questions, whether in MEE or IEE.

Other than that I have no idea. I would guess the ones more likely to be tested on (outside of MBE topics) are civil procedure, criminal procedure, commercial paper/secured transactions, and agency/partnerships/corporations. Next likely probably trusts and family law. Administrative law, personal property, suretyship, conflicts, and equity are least likely in my head.

EDIT: Apparently family law is likely to be tested, according to Kaplan.

Thanks for this. Great info.

IL Civ Pro? My chart I got from Themis says it's tested like 75% of the time.

Any chance you can put up the stats from that chart?

How worried are you guys about the MPT? I've only done 2 practice tests so far and I have no motivation to do any more at this point.

I'm also interested in this. Anyone know what a 3 looks like compared to the Barbri's sample essays?

For people in BarBri, isn't there some sort of resource that has all the Illinois distinctions we need to know for IEE? Or are they really just scattered throughout these lecture notes?

In the Enrolled Student Center, click on "Updates and Other Materials" in the left column. The evidence and torts distinctions are there.

Thanks, yeah I've seen these - there aren't things like this somewhere for evidence/contracts/property?

Well, evidence is there. But I'm not sure there really are any IL distinctions for the other two (are there?).

Er yeah not evidence but criminal law. I know like Illinois is a lien theory state which is relevant to property, not sure where I read that, though.

Just some procedural questions:

(1) Does anyone know whether we received a seat assignment, or do we get that once we get to the testing site?

(2) Should/can we bring a watch? The directions suggest that we can't, but Guzman said in the intro to the simulated MBE that we should get watches and set them to 12:00 when the test starts...
