Five Weeks to Study for Second Bar Exam - Need a Study Plan

I recently accepted a job offer in a state far away from the one where I'm currently admitted (NY). The firm wants me to take the bar exam this July, but through a combination of life circumstances, I am only now able to begin studying. I have the BarBri books and materials from last year's test. How can I most effectively use my time? I took the NY bar exam a couple years ago, but I had all summer to study for that one.

What state? If it's a big MBE state you might wanna just focus on the MBE.

It's a half-and-half state. I'm trying to use my time effectively, but I don't have BarBri holding my hand this time.

I'd focus on MBE big time. You can bank so many points that your writing can suck and you'd still pass.

Drill the hell out of MBE, figure out your states high-test areas and study those thoroughly, then do a cursory read of lower tested areas to refresh/get distinctions. You should be fine.

Hopefully the MBE will come back to you. Start there and see how you are testing.

Go to the state's web site and see what materials they have. If they have model answers, work through the questions they provide. I wouldn't spend much time writing out essays, just do a couple to get a sense of timing and then issue spot/outline as many as you can.

Having passed once, this should be more annoying than anything. Good luck!
