Earrings acceptable?

I am a male student with a left ear piercing. A black diamond stud. I will be meeting my boss for the first time to start an internship soon. Should I take out my earring? Is it possible to replace it with a very classy looking earring stud so that it would be acceptable in the office?
I feel incomplete/uncomfortable without it.

I'd go without it and get a feel for the office first. After a few days, you'll be able to gauge whether they're cool with it.

I wear it in a way that doesn't make me look like a douche.

This is a good opportunity to start dressing like an adult. Don't do it.

Well according to his post history he was a senior in Dec 2012, so maybe not.

Oh my bad. Assumed it was a legal internship. I'd still say no to a black diamond stud regardless of age.

Are douches aware they look like douches or do they think they rock that black stud in a classy way? How many classy men can you name who wear a black stud?

It's a cultural thing. You surround yourself with similar people and you don't realize that how you all act together is not the norm. Douches might actually be surprised to realize they are douches - look how many people bought and wore ed hardy shirts. Everywhere they went, other dudes had them too, but little did they all know that they were, in fact, douches.

I'd never wear at the office. It can only hurt you if you do. It will definitely not help you. I would 100% never take you seriously ever again.
