What you expect when you first start working at a firm -

Post by Raiden » Mon May 27, 2013 9:28 pm

For those of with summer employment, it would be interesting to hear about the experiences of those of you who have previously worked as a SA. How is law firm life completely different than law school? They say its 1L all over again, in a certain sense. Any Do's or Don'ts we should keep in mind. Thanks.

I know over the years I have posted in several threads like this. Maybe someone else can help you find them. I don't recall the titles offhand and I'm tired. There has to have been three threads on this at least in the past month. At least one or two were good threads so I don't want to miss something.

My primary don't: don't complain ever.
My second dont: don't miss a deadline and don't listen if partners say you have plenty of time. Deadlines change.
Third: don't be defensive
Fourth: don't ever be ride to staff.

Find the rest. There is a lot of good advice on the forum already.
