States do report results at different times. My impression is it's mostly to do with number of people taking the exam - I remember North Carolina being really early? If you go here http://admissions.calbar.ca.gov/Portals ... 201302.pdf you'll probably get the dates for California. I think it's one of the latest ones because so many people take it.

How long did NC take for you?

Oh, I didn't take NC - I just remember being completely jealous when their results came out. I think it was end of August, so just about four weeks. My state took 10 weeks.

(Also, it doesn't vary by year - the results come out pretty much the same day/week every year.)
