I think they are the same. I think that Ibid. is just Supreme Court convention, while most other courts and the Bluebook use Id.

Technically, they come from different Latin words - id. = idem = the same; ibid. = ibidem = in the same place. It kinda looks like SCOTUS uses id. for the same source when the pincite is different (Jones v. Smith, 12 U.S. 34, 45 (2017).... Id. at 47.), and ibid. from the same source and pincite. (Jones v. Smith, 12 U.S. 34, 45 (2017).... Ibid.) No idea why they do it differently, but I guess that's why they're SCOTUS.

When citing a source and page reference, if, immediately afterward, you again refer to the same source and page, use "Ibid." That signifies you're citing the same place. However, if you instead cite the same source, but a difference page x, then use "Id. at x."
