Summary judgment isn't difficult to understand. Read the E&E section that deals with summary judgment. As far as case law, find binding precedent in your jurisdiction that specifically defines what is required to grant summary judgment. Look for burdens on the moving party and non-moving party. Yes the Supreme Court has defined this in cases like Celotex, but it's always good to get the lower courts interpretation of this.

Ask your professor about the specifics regarding CREAC and whatnot.
