If I am withdrawing with no intent to continue law school after first semester since it is too late to do so before finals:
-Is there any advantage to withdraw v.s. file for a leave of absence or vice versa (given that I have no intent to return)?
-Will my first semester grades always be present on my transcript, or does withdrawing turn those grades into W's?

Re: Withdrawing law school
Dude just file a leave of absence. It takes maybe 30 min which is a lot less of a hassle than what you have to go through if by some chance you do decide to go back. I know two ppl who did this last year, and sure enough, one of them decided to come back and just finish out his degree. Seriously, it's all upside no downside.
Assuming you take your finals, your grades will show up on your transcript, whether you withdraw or take a leave. Your school may be different regarding this question though.
