I've been lurking this thread for a while and just wanted to say it's an awesome thread that was a nice study break the last few weeks. Contacts final is on Tuesday, Crim on Thursday. Then Torts Mon, Civ Pro Wed. I definitely started studying too late and can't gauge how I'm gonna do but life's a bitch and then you die so fuck it.

My torts final is 20 short answer questions with answers capped at 4 typed lines each. Anyone else have a weird setup like this? I looked at some of his old tests and will be spending thur night-sunday of next week trying to get a handle on the style, gonna be a trip.

Events of my afternoon/evening so far: Take a torts practice exam. See the sample answer has 2 different answers for each question. Read through first answer and think:  "wow I'm screwed if this is what my professor wants, mine is nothing like this". Read through second answer: 8) "nice, this is structured just like how I did mine".

Edit: I just really hope following Arrow's advice closely, LEEWS, GTM + all these hypos, PTs, memorization pays off. I'll do top 1/3.

Edit 2: Mother fucker. I get ALL the issues plus more and can type it well. But I'm just too slow of a typer. I'm ~1100 words an hour. ~_~ Maybe I'm worrying too much about how I type. What's credited?

2100 words on a 90-minute Civ.Pro. PT. I feel okay about my issue-spotting, pretty good about my analysis, and okay about my typing speed, which seems to be the topic of the last few days. My organization needs some work though, at least intra-paragraph.

I wouldn't know whether this is the credited response or not, but I think complete analysis of every issue is more important than a raw number of words typed. That said, you may (or may not, if your writing is packed with superfluous verbiage) have more words in a better answer, because obviously spotting three issues on one exam is going to take fewer words than spotting four on that exam, and analyzing three issues well will take more words than analyzing three issues decently. Assuming, of course, that the extra words aren't BS filler that don't rack up points for you.

Also, that picture is legit as shit. YMCMB/CSWS

When when you 1100 wph, that hour includes all your thinking and whatnot too, right? Well, can you give an estimate of how much time you're spending thinking vs. how much time you're actually typing? Maybe you just need to learn to think through the issues faster (which is probably easier to learn than learning to type faster, given the short time period before finals)

SportsFan, it was my first practice exam so I was a little shaky. As I am practicing more, I am typing more. I find myself going back to the facts sometimes. Bad? I am getting all the issues, though with deep analysis.

By the way. My one teacher does not have answers. Do I still practice his tests or just use Siegels?

Thanks, bro.

Just finished my second contracts PT. Nailed it, except I fuck up on expectation, reliance, and restitution damages every time. Buyer/seller is okay. Each PT I am typing ~500 more words than the previous test. It's open notebook and I looked at my 1 page attack outline 3 times. Memorization is ~75% of the way there. Fuck it. It's 4 AM, the test is in 9 days.

My prof. has these short answers at the end which deviate from legal writing (only explaining damages), so it's a mad dash to type.

LET US GO BOYS. KEEP THIS SHIT UP. POWER THROUGH.

If anyone wants to share exam PTing, let me know.

I need some motivation. I'm up to 20 PTs total for 4 classes, but maybe half are not full-length b/c some questions are irrelevant to my prof's style.

How many PTs you folks up to?

Thanks, I've barely started my civ pro attack outline so this'll help me organize mine.

IIRC, I've done 2 civ pro, 2 contracts, and 4 torts. Before my exams, I'm hoping to get done another 5 civ pro, 1 contracts, and 4 torts. I don't think I've some a single full length one yet, though, since I've been skipping stuff we hadn't gotten to in class yet (though thats pretty much irrelevant at this point).

First exam Wednesday... Let's go CSWS. I've done every practice for everyone one of my classes. Left one full one for the day before the exam. Outlined memorized. Typing speeds up. Grabbed 5k words on my last full torts exam. Time to shine I'm actually excited for finals.

Feeling a bit burnt out today. Finished up my reading for the week but got about 20 minutes into a practice exam and just don't have the motivation to do any more. Think I'll take the rest of the day off and try to play video games, watch, and relax so I can go hard all week.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
