I don't know, that guide still looks like you have to put in the work to do well.
I think TC is referring to people who basically watch Youtube videos in class and sleep all day without ever writing a outline but still ace exams.

I think slacking off due to "laziness" can be made up for by being "Hella organized!"

I did well enough without being organized. Being lazy is just a waste of tuition money though. There's a difference.

Lots of people work hard and don't do well. Some people don't work hard but do well. The safe bet is to work hard and give yourself the best chance to do well.

Lazy in undergrad and lazy in law school are two very different things. I know people slacking their way to top 25%, but these folks are still putting in hours to prepare for exams.
There is no excuse to be lazy as a 1L. There is too much riding on it.

Each of your class mates is as smart as you are, and some of them are studying harder.
Ask yourself where you can fall in the class and still have a chance to get a job. If you need to be at the top, then are you okay with not being at the top? If you aren't, then get your ass in the library and hit the books. I promise you the night before your first exam you won't be thinking "wow, I'm so happy that I didn't study very hard earlier in the semester." Future you is researching how to make a time machine to come kick your ass right now as they wonder who the fuck is going to hire them.

I'm not that organized and also didn't work nearly as hard as a lot of my classmates and still did well. But I still did my reading, went to class, and studied for the exam. I just didn't make my own outlines or really go above and beyond. Doing absolutely nothing would be a terrible idea, although I do have classmates who didn't buy the casebook until finals period or who showed up 3 times the whole semester. They graduated and have jobs, so I guess it worked out.

So I guess the answer for the TC is "No, even the super smart people still somewhat work to get good trades."

Didnt read and missed like half the classes 1L spring and still wound up top 15% at a T30. Though I was top 5% 1L fall, didn't really study, just did the reading and went to class. I guess that qualifies as lazy and doing well. Still didn't get a job though an am prob gonna drop out.

Isn't there still time to find a job?
