I feel like I'm starting to get lost in my Civ Pro class. All this jurisdiction stuff is confusing me. Any recommendations on a good supplement. Preferably not the E&Es cause I feel like that is for when you know the stuff and wanna practice for the exams. In this case I just need to learn it.

No, that's why I'm asking for opinions on it. Regardless my roommate has the E&E which seems to be TCR, so I'm just gonna borrow that.

To be fair, I looked through my room mates E&E tonight. It was helpful to an extent. But the section on General and specific jurisdiction was around 10 pages long. I was looking for something more like the Chemerinsky Treatise on Con Law I guess, where it simplifies while still giving an in depth look at the subject.

Maybe I'll check out this Freer one and the Glannon aid as well.

EDIT: After seeing your recommendation, seeing more in other threads, and finally reading some glowing reviews, I decided to purchase the Freer Treatise. Ill let you know what I think of it when it comes.

Definitely the Freer supplement, it's great. Freer has audio tapes on Civ Pro that are great too -- I think you can get them separately or through bar bri.

which case book are you using?
I use the hornbook keyed to my casebook and its great!

Agree. That supplement is fantastic, especially for the first semester material.

You aren't using the E&E correctly. There are 10 pages or so of basic information on a topic. The real nuance and understanding comes from the examples, which Glannon explains very well. TCR is to use whatever supplement you need to placate the neurotic anxiety all 1Ls have that they haven't completely mastered a topic. (Hint: That doesn't necessarily lead to an A)

I got both the E&E and a multiple choice Civ Pro book also written by Glannon. Of the two, I preferred the multiple choice because it clearly explained why some answers which seemed right were wrong and helped me avoid giving wrong answers on my exam - not just showing me what was "right." If that makes sense.

Richard Freer Barbri video. Didn't understand Civ Pro at all during the semester. Watched the video about 10 times until I practically memorized it. Got the highest A in the class.

This is a great suppliment if you're a linear thinker. Checklists make everything easy.

The E&E is great. I would also strongly recommend Howard Erichson's book. (I'll look for a link. Saved me on several sections.)
