Re: ITT: 3LOL
Def beyond incredibly grateful for somehow getting biglaw from a TT. Booked a trip to the east coast and took off two weeks of class for it, spent the wkend before finals getting drunk w visiting college friends, and spent the wk of finals booking my post-bar trip. Def could not have done nearly as well without the support of TLS. Cheers and g'luck on the Bar everyone!

This is me. By 3L, you know class is a joke and doesn't really prepare you for legal work. You get sick of professors who try to look important. I just try to keep lawl skool bullshit light hearted with gallows humor, b/c lawl skools too fucking depressing. Plus there's only so many times you can go to the CDO and ask for tips or what little leads they have before you realize that the CDO really doesn't help all that much.romothesavior wrote: It's about just not giving a shit about classes and grades anymore, which is not even exclusive to being employed. Hell, some of the most 3LOLzy people I know are unemployed.

It's clear to me now that I should have read some pages this semester. Any page really.

Just nine hours to freedom. It's an afternoon exam and I'm gonna finish cramming this morning (outline is done but I'm gonna go over it, maybe fill it in a bit more, etc.). And it's gorgeous today. I'm not sure if this day is going to drag or fly by.

Paper due in 4 hours. It must be 20 pages (excluding footnotes). I pulled an all-nighter. I'm at about 18 pages. Class is P/F. All I need to get is a C.
Make. It. Stop.

Somehow got over a 3.8 this semester -so, my highest GPA ever, with the least studying ever. I wish the work-rewards ratio always worked like that.

They must either assume we passed or have the professors skim our exams/papers to make sure we didn't fail. But it's basically impossible to fail at my school anyways.
We did have to mark a box on our exam folders saying we were expecting to graduate, so there's probably some of the latter going on.

The teachers don't have to submit anything saying everyone in his or her class passed though (not that anyone really fails LS)? Interesting. I guess this is the one thing I'm happy my school does.5ky wrote:We don't get grades til our normal mid-June time, and honors aren't even announced until next fallbeach_terror wrote:How else can you get your diploma at graduation?ajax adonis wrote:How do you get your grades so quickly? Yeah, teachers are given a week or so to turn in 3l grades, which probably results in them not reading anything, hence my A's. But, your system seems kind of flawed.ajax adonis wrote:How do you get your grades so quickly? Sure, they do, but that pretty much just entails checking to make sure you submitted something, since nobody actually receives an F otherwisebeach_terror wrote: The teachers don't have to submit anything saying everyone in his or her class passed though (not that anyone really fails LS)? My school makes sure you qualify for graduation before you graduate. Grades are due Friday at noon and graduation is Sunday.

Re: ITT: 3LOL
People at Northwestern aren't even turning some papers in under a week or two after graduation. And I never filled out a form for a two draft paper. Nobody has said anything.MSPeast wrote:My school makes sure you qualify for graduation before you graduate. Grades are due Friday at noon and graduation is Sunday.
