Second week of law school and feeling a little overwhelmed.
Can someone give me advice on what supplements to use for these textbooks, or just in general? I have the Glannon for Civ Pro, but was wondering if there was something that would give me an overview. Also, does anyone have any outlines that go with these textbooks? Thank you so much!
Property (Dukeminier)
Civil Procedure (Ides & May)
Contracts (Blum & Bushaw)
Torts (Best, Barnes)

It's August. There should be no such thing as a frantic 1L right now. Supplements don't matter right now.

True, but I like to order mine early and feel prepared. I'm a little prone to anxiety.

Ask your prof what he or she recommends. Profs usually know what supplements go with the text, since they picked it. They usually also have suggestions for supplemental reading. Try to relax. For what it's worth, I'm also somewhat anxiety prone and found that going to the gym a few times a week really helped.

If you have Blum for Ks, get the E&E. Blum writes the E&E. If you're going to buy his cryptic casebook, you might as well give him more money and buy his E&E where he explains it all much better.

Dude, put on some Bob Marley or JB, relax and enjoy the ride.
Edit: I say that of course after having picked my horn book, and E&E for each class....... BTW, it is somewhat easier to pick the book when the Prof wrote the text book and the hornbook for the class as it is in one of my classes.

Just want to add a plug that you can ace law school without supplements to textbooks. Obviously its a personal preference though. My one exception is for practice problems - sometimes a supplement is all you can find. Or property - property is not intuitive at all, so, yeah, outside references are fine. But believe it or not, your professor will (generally, if they aren't completely terrible) tell you everything you need to know for the exam, and it will all be contained in the assigned readings. Lean too much on supplements, now you've strayed from your professor's focus into generalities. The exam aces will spit back the professor's own thoughts. A supplement may explain things differently, and your professor might think, "no, thats not how I described it."
Just for your consideration.
