the lectures started out ok with chemerinsky/schechter/franzese but wow, have things taken a turn for the worse. prof waterstone doing community prop and remedies was just terrible. and the evidence guy wasn't much better.

not to mention the website is constantly down... and barbri amp is always having issues...

definitely not worth $3900.

Also your sign in times out while doing study smart mbe. It's annoying because you have to keep checking to make sure you aren't timing out.

I agree that it could be a lot better given how much it costs. Our Civ Pro guy was terrible.

Um, my videos time out. Or stop working in the middle of me watching them. I do the StudySmart MBE questions in the MPQ book and then transfer my answers to StudySmart. Time per question is not an issue for me (I always finish in time), so I don't care that this strategy makes it impossible for StudySmart to track my time per question. It still helpfully catalogs which areas I have a grasp on and which areas I need work in, which is what I really need it for, so on balance, that works for me. But I agree that Barbri could offer a much better product for what they are charging.

I'll have to try that. However, my bandwidth at home isn't the best and I foresee that giving me problems with Study Smart running correctly if I have a video open.

I can't believe how bad it was. Speed reading an outline verbatim is not teaching a subject. God damn.

Barbri is the biggest fucking waste of money. I can't believe year after year they do the same shit yet no one finds out how horrible it is until it's too late. I don't know anyone who isn't seriously disappointed with it.

Barbri is fine if you accept the fact that you're going to have to end up teaching yourself the necessary shit anyways. They give you all the practice problems and do an okay job of boiling down the law into outlines for you. Grant, the Wills/Trust outline is lulzie and useless, but the other ones are relatively useful, IMO.

I think their materials are perfectly fine. In fact, I think the CMR is great. But you can buy everything for $250 and save yourself a completely unnecessary $3,750 for the lectures (lol) and the grading (lol x 100000).

I have not learned literally one thing from Barbri lecturers or graders that I couldn't have taught myself. None of it is conceptually difficult, it's just a matter of practice and discipline.

Protip: the actual essay graders by your state bar will be just as bad, if not worse. A lot of them will read and grade your entire essay in under 30 seconds based on words that jump out to them, and they have zero accountability to you to make sure they get it right.
