My school saves all but 5 or so spots for the top 10% kids. Those 5 or so spots are only there cause some kids from the top transfer. So yeah, you have about 100 kids battling for those 5 spots. Another catch is there is a minimum class rank cut off to even try for those 5 or so spots, and it isn't low.merc280 wrote:adonai wrote:Some of us have no chance to even participate in the competition. Don't most schools allow write on regardless of grades?
nothing? what about boosted chance of prestigious employment? pride in my heart? (maybe not so much on the last one)Void wrote:If you write on, you'll spend your entire 2L year slavishly bluebooking citations and toiling over a gigantic paper that nobody will care about, and all for basically nothing. This is fucked up. Thoughadonai wrote:My school saves all but 5 or so spots for the top 10% kids. Those 5 or so spots are only there cause some kids from the top transfer. IMetaread wrote:Right now I'm not motivated to do the write-on cuz I was accepted into Moot Court. Do you guys think it's worth doing the write-on for a chance at an acceptance into law review?
I would motoboat my face in a pile of dung for any increased chance of employment. Bluebooking around the clock is the least of my worries...target wrote:This is fucked up. Of course. Moot court is not on the same level as law review
