crim pro cram

3L, pass/fail crim pro. 3-hour multiple choice test in a week (makes it harder IMO). have not done any reading, semi-paid attention in class. Fucked?
if not, what is the best way to learn crim pro in a week without taking too much time away from my actual finals?

i dunno about a week, but understanding crim pro from dressler is pretty solid, esp if you are using his casebook. the crunchtime book doesn't seem bad from the few sections of it i have read, and actually might be a bit more helpful since your exam is going to be M/C and will probably focus more on fact patterns that can be resolved with relatively clear cut rules (which can be found in crunchtime) as opposed to more policy based stuff (which dressler does a nice job going over).

Cheh has an Exam Pro for Crim Pro that's got 3 exams' worth of MC questions. I've found them moderately helpful so far, but since I haven't taken my exam yet we should take that with a grain of salt.

It is absolutely possible to learn something well enough to pass in a week. Honestly, I think it's possible to do so in 2-3 days. But we're talking 14 hours/day of study. Do every single question you can get your hands on. Read every case. Take some practice exams. Look at model answers and try to model your own answers after them. Do CALI, do E&Es. The tools are out there.
Are you at a school where there's really a legit concern you'll fail? Or do pass/fails work differently?
Moral: Don't Panic. It won't help you. Just pile materials on yourself and try to dig your way out.

at a T20 where fail = C-. don't know if there is legitimate chance of failing. problem with 14hrs/day is that i have 2 other exams that are actually for a grade...

You actually kinda do need to read cases for Crim Pro, since they are almost all SCOTUS cases.

EDIT: although! almost all the cases in con law are SCOTUS cases, and i didn't read a single one of those.

Could be professor specific, but in my four semesters I haven't had a class with remotely as much material as crim pro. You might be fucked.

Here's enough to get you a "P":
4th Amendment: you get protection from warrantless searches & Seizures where you have a reasonable expectation of privacy. Searches/seizures with warrants: you're basically fucked.
5th Amendment: you can't be compelled to testify. Plus, you get due process, which sometimes includes a lawyer. Say something incriminating by accident: you're basically fucked.
6th Amendment: you get a jury trial if you're facing the possibility of 6+ months imprisonment. You can have a lawyer after you've been charged. Need a lawyer before being charged, or a jury trial for shoplifting: you're basically fucked.
Since its multiple choice, if you have to guess always defer to D: Basically Fucked.

Does you school provide grade distributions or other data on the number of people who fail? I strongly suspect it boarders on impossible.

I don't think anything is beating out Admin for me, I'm not particularly worried about Crim Pro...but that's probably just my prof's style. He's pretty laid back and he's been teaching approximately 100 years.

ya im more worried about admin than crim pro. although i agree crim pro has a ton of material, our exam is a 24 hour take home with a word limit and isn't curved. soooo...

high court case summaries/some other briefs.. dressler to fill in holes.. siegels/some other MC supplements to make sure you know it..
i'm guessing a B+ is in your future.. or what would be a B+ if it was graded

thanks for replies.
if the exam was essay, i'd be a lot less worried. i feel with an old outline + open book, i can BS enough to at least get a C- as i'm generally pretty good at taking exams. multiple choice i think makes it a lot more difficult, and i have no idea how i am at MC as i've never had a MC law school exam...
