Software for making flashcards

Post by waxecstatic » Sun Feb 26, 2012 7:02 pm

While it's useful to make flashcards, the idea of writing them out by hand is sort of absurd when you consider how much information you want to put on each and how many you want to make. Does anyone know of any kind of software that makes this process easier or even a system they use? Thanks.

I love this one:

http://www.studyblue.com/

You can build them online and then use them on your phone/tablet.

quizlet.com

You can make the cards either on the computer or on your phone, view them and shuffle them in any number of ways, and everything you do on comp syncs to your phone account and vice versa.

(0L disclaimer)
Most printers can probably print on index cards. Set the paper size in Word to 5x3 and have at it.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I understand that it might just be a necessary evil to write them out by hand, but I have awful handwriting and I feel like there is just an easier way. Thanks!!

I use iflash because you can make the cards in a google spreadsheet and import them which is really easy. It also works on an iphone.

I actually found the writing of the flash cards (by hand) to significantly help in memorizing the material. When I would look back through my flashcards and come across one that I couldn't remember, I would rewrite the flash card as well.
