Can anyone recommend a good place to get a good explanation on fee simples & all the other information that comes with it. I'm really not following my professor and I think my casebook is just confusing me.

My prof recommended http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/073557 ... hs_product and I found it useful. Note that some things in the supplement might differ from the way your prof teaches it.

The E&E does a decent job of explaining it, if you can easily borrow a copy from a friend or the library.

Edit: CALI lessons are good too, in a pinch. They might be slightly different from how your prof. explains them though.

This. Even if the terms a bit different, this is enormously helpful, particularly the problems.

Definitely get a separate book/supplement to teach you life estates and future interests if you get the feeling you prof will focus on it. The one recommended above is what I used and i liked it a lot, but there are others out there (most likely for free in your school's library). The problems in books like these to help you practice are also extremely valuable.

Ya thanks no shit this is straight out of the 14th century and it is really confusing.

The real fun comes with the Rule Against Perpetuities, Doctrine or Worthier Title, Doctrine of Merger, and the Rule in Shelley's Case.

Outline banks or upper classmen, duder. If you know any 2 or 3Ls, and ideally if you do bitchwork for them in a student org, ask for their outline. The outline should clarify the concepts.

My professor wrote the E&E and still gives us required reading from this. If you buy used, make sure that the practice problems haven't been completed.

I second this. My prof assigned it, and the kids who didn't read it were thoroughly confused when she went over both present and future interests AND the RAP in 2 class periods. Those of us who read it had little trouble keeping up.

My plan was to understand the basics, re-learn it in class, and save the problems in the book until exam review time.
