Is a dean's scholar award OK to put on your resume? I don't have the best resume, so it would due great to be able to fill another line with something that looks better than working at a grocery store in undergrad.

1) Probably.
2) Ask your Career Services people to be sure.

Is deans scholar the same thing as deans list? I think half the class is on the deans list, no?

Depends on the school. Top 20% get it at mine.

I say yes, but it's also important to note what the requirements were for it on your resume. Some have hard requirements (top X% of your class), others are soft ("shows a commitment to community service").

If it's hard, and your resume already reflects that criteria, then I would leave it off.

If you are at HLS (which I assume you are based on your posting history), yes, it's appropriate and expected that you will put Dean's Scholar prizes (which are basically our equivalent of book awards, AmJurs, CALI awards, A+s, etc.) on your resume.

Yeah, since it confused some people here, you should mention who it's awarded to (top X%, top # students, etc.)

If you're HLS, you can/should put it on your resume. I put mine on there and OCS gave it a thumbs up. And I got offers from most places I interviewed, so clearly it wasn't enough to make them think I'm a douche. (Or at least not such a douche that they didn't want to hire me.)
