Top Law Schools

Though perhaps a little controversial around these parts, I found book briefing worked for me last semester.

However, legislation is a horse of a different color, so I'm wondering what approaches others have found useful when preparing for class/reading congressional records. What should I be pulling out or paying particular attention to?

Start with the table of contents. Statutes are to be understood in context. You may gain understanding of what a statute is trying to get at by looking at what the statutes surrounding accomplish. Also, while in the table of contents, find the definitions section if there is one.

No, that was great! A big portion will be statutory interpretation, so I'll definitely keep that in mind when we get to it.

I do what I can. Really, that class is a breeze. Just get all the different canons down. There's a little blue paperback book that is a great primer for the course. I can't remember the name of it, but you can have my copy of it if I still have it.
