1L internship in another city

I've applied to a couple judicial internships and other summer opportunities in cities outside of the one in which my school sits. For those that have done this, how did you handle accommodations for the 6 or 12 week period?

contact people who go to school in that city, and ask them to post that you need a sublet.

One of them is a federal district court in a relatively small town with no major schools. I don't think there is much of a subletting market.

Sometimes hotels/motels will work out deals with you for long stay or you can find a specified long term hotel/motel.
