70 people in the class
2 policy questions "worth" 7% but he goes by check marks
3 essays worth the rest
wrecked 1st policy q, destroyedddddd the 3 essays to save the last policy question (15 min est time) and i completelyyyyy blew it. i thought the wording was bad but everyone else got it.
any chance i can still get a solid A? i just want one solid A. so sad
edit - by blowing it...basically it was a Q about perfect tender or rsomething and i wrote about like...consideration. that's how bad it was. i got thrown off by the word default

Damn dude, you're having a rough semester. I got an A on a 1l exam in which I missed a huge issue. It wasn't blowing an entire question but there were only two questions on the exam and I missed something that was really key in one of them. I worried the whole summer that I was getting a shit grade even though I felt good about the rest of the exam. So I think it could happen in your case. But I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I got an A on an exam where I had missed an entire issue.
Basically, contracts professor spent the whole semester talking about Peevyhouse, and I missed the peevyhouse issue. But I got an A.
Dude: You need to chill out. We have no idea if you will get an A. However, our collective experience shows that your feeling of how well or unwell you did is not usually connected to reality. So just go skiing, eat spiral ham, and enjoy the break.

Entirely possible, but it depends on how everyone else did. The curve can save you, or it can kill you.

I agree with the above commenters. It's easier said than done, but do your best to relax and feel confident in the portions where you felt you did well. I lost too much hair stressing about outcomes I no longer had any control over. Once the test is done, just look forward to the next semester.

In the abstract, I know people who have gotten enough points on a single question (of a 2-4 question exam) to get an A+.
Specifically, you are unlikely to get an A on any exam you answer every question on, because of the curve, so I have no idea why you want people to assure you it's still possible on an exam were you're sure that you screwed up a question?

Yeah, exactly. It's definitely possible OP got an A, but I'm willing to bet that he didn't "wreck" or "destroy" the other questions as much as he thought he did.
No hard feelings. Just saying that if you thought it was easy, chances are everyone else knew the answers too and the curve will be tough. Could be wrong though.

I missed a whole question on one of mine (same thing, I wrote an answer, realized too late it was the wrong effing thing. boo hiss)
Anyway, I felt ok about the rest of it, and everyone seemed to think the exam was awful, so I have just resigned myself to C and tried my damndest to compensate with the other exams. Nothing else to do now. If I do better, I'll be stoked, if not, well, it'll be what I prepped myself for. Hoping for an A seems like a sure setup for dismay in January, if you ask me.

If the exam was an easy exam, probably not. If the exam was a difficult one, then doing badly on a small portion of it will not prevent you from getting an A.
Just bear in mind that if you are a 1L, you have little to no idea how you did in your exams. Most of my friends were wrong about the classes they expected to do well or badly in.

From the patterns in my life, no matter if I feel great or awful about how I did, I always come out bad. I can only hope that I am the only person with this kind of pattern in life.
