Is this stupid to do? Anyone ever had to do this?
If it was any day during the semester I wouldn't hesitate, but im not sure if it is taboo to miss the first day or something

Just tell your professors the situation. Getting a job or doing things that could lead to a job is your #1 goal in law school.

You just need to give notice ahead of time and you should be fine. At least at my school, you can be dropped from the roll for no-showing without an explanation on the first day of a class.

if anything, it's less taboo to miss the first day since add/drop is going on and the professors expect people to not be there.

I may have purposely skipped the first day of many classes, because seriously, who cares? You've got all semester to catch up.

Meh, I'm missing my first writing class for a job interview. As long as you give advance notice, it's not a big deal.
