Criminal Law Finals Question

I was wondering if anyone could help me on the following:
I have a crim law professor that is giving us a final in which we are given three different fictional statutes a week before the exam. For the exam, there will be a fact pattern in which the person definitely broke the law.
We are supposed to argue this at an appeals court level. We are supposed to discuss the pros and cons of the statute. Why the defendant should be held liable, why not. Principles of legality, vagueness, all that good stuff.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a supplement that will help with a test of this nature. We're not being tested on black letter law, so that won't help at all.
Thanks!
