FWIW: My prof. is very heavy on statutes. We go over select cases to help define a term w/in a statute. He said we shouldn't have to name a case on the exam.

My professor gives us the layout he wants and basically requires we use his organization. We use:

Heading for which issue you are addresing (i.e. Alice v. Bob: Criminal Homicide)

I. Voluntary Act
II. Social Harm
III. Mens Rea
IV. Actual Cause
V. Proximate Cause

Repeat for each issue.

A checklist for each crime would be very helpful.

Just so you don't miss something like felony murder.
