I don't think I really missed anything, I kinda threw the kitchen sink at the exam. Re: 1L Exam Prep and Motivation Thread
Mine wasnt the traditional issue spotter, things worked through complicity. I applied the wrong mr to the original crime and all of the other crimes went through my misapplied men's rea crime. Only hope is that two kids I know out of my fifty person class didn't even address 2/6 of the parties. You will prob be ok. I will too. Just might have to retake class/ killself. And to think a- on the midterm....crossarmant wrote:I don't think I really missed anything, I kinda threw the kitchen sink at the exam. Got my ass served well done in Contracts today. Threw out the kitchen sink and hoping something sticks. Everyone else seems to be pretty upset about it too so I guess it all comes down to how well I performed against the curve. Atleast I didn't cry. I cried after the Ks midterm but still came out ahead of the curve/ Optimistic for the same. Torts Saturday. Can't wait!

Is it wrong to almost be excited for my contracts exam tomorrow? I really loved that class and I even love working on hypos for it. I feel like I really know this material and that the exam is a great challenge for me.
On the contrary, I despised Civ Pro and continue to feel that way post-exam (though I think I did enough to get at least a B in the class).

No. That's a great feeling. I'm kind of excited for Torts. I just need to refresh because I spent so much time preparing for contracts only to be bloodied and bruised today. hahahajoncrooshal wrote:Is it wrong to almost be excited for my contracts exam tomorrow? Re: 1L Exam Prep and Motivation Thread
I'm sure you did a lot better than you think. I second guessed the shit out of myself on Civ Pro the minute I left. Especially the bullshit short answer. I know I probably did median or slightly above on the short answer. Then I started talking to people about the big fact pattern and I feel a bit better about it now.AlexanderSupertramp wrote:No. That's a great feeling. I'm kind of excited for Torts. We had an 8600 character limit. I had 8599 characters. Lulz.

Had the same Ks experience - the defenses seemed to be raised by the wrong person, and therefore took extra time to explain the reasoning. That was especially compounded by the ridiculous 2500 total word limit in which to address P and D's causes of action and defenses for two separate fact patterns. Quasi-reassuring that the collective 'we' had the same punchdrunk looks on our faces upon emerging.AlexanderSupertramp wrote:Got my ass served well done in Contracts today. Re: 1L Exam Prep and Motivation Thread
For my exams I've adoped the strategy of writing it like:
A vs. B
Offer - paragraph about offer
Acceptance - paragraph about acceptance
I did this on my K's exam because I've read in various places that headings can be helpful to the professor and it just makes sense to me. Now I'm starting to really doubt myself because I don't think anyone else at my school really does it this way. I didn't ask the professor beforehand if this would be acceptable but I probably should have. Did I screw myself?

This is how I do torts. My prof. loves it. Ks was not at all set up like this so I couldn't have done it if I'd tried. Im sure if it made sense to you itll work.rawrab wrote:For my exams I've adoped the strategy of writing it like:

My Ks prof takes points off if you didn't use headers - which made the word limit that much tighter. As long as you make it clearer without insulting their intelligence (i.e. bolding and underlining random words you hope they don't overlook, which I've heard from no less than 5 profs is annoying), I think you're fine.

We had a 950 world limit.
I didn't use headings because would be waste of words.

No it was a bitch of a test. Three short answers, a monster fact pattern, and a policy arg that required a lot of eloquence. But I didn't write that much.Hannibal wrote:What. How do you even write that much.Eugenie Danglars wrote:Ours was 6000 words in 4 hours. Urgh.

Not a word limit. A character limit. Including spaces, periods, enters, etc.Michaela wrote:8600?!?! Is that normal for T1 schools?!? I thought my 1800 WL seemed high.joncrooshal wrote: We had an 8600 character limit. I had 8599 characters. Lulz.
Edit: Saw that this was addressed above. Would have much preferred a word limit, TBH.
