1L Summer Employment Question

Currently a 1L at a T25, I have a connection to get a summer gig at the UN, however, my connection said they can only guarantee that I get an externship there, not an internship. Is this not even worth it? Will employers look down upon an externship?

Its a meaningless differentiation whether something is an internship or externship. All that matters is how you spin it during interviews.

You're at my school, so heh, I can help you a bit.
Doesn't matter how you label it - 1) needs to be summer 2) needs to give you some good legal experience 3) needs to put you in a position where you can sell yourself on a) leadership and b) ability to work with others.
