Visiting Year?

Applied to transfer, was accepted, decided to decline the invitation. Still like the school (and the area, which is where I'd like to practice for family reasons but is well outside my current school's turf).

Anyone done/doing a visiting year? If so, why? How was the experience?

Thanks all.

If you like the school and like the area...why did you decide on not transferring?

According to OP's earlier posts, he received a full tuition scholarship to his current law school since he finished in the top 5%, but will be doing an SA in Denver.

I've been tracked...

why didn't I transfer? suffice it to say that graduating with no debt is preferable to graduating with 6-figure debt, even if it means practicing at a big firm in my current region for a few years and then throwing my hat in the lateral ring. (by that point I may be ready to rest on my savings and leave the law altogether for a while haha). this is especially so when the new school, for which I would be incurring 6-figure debt, couldn't provide a significantly greater guarantee for job prospects in my city of choice.

As to the SA spot out west-- no dice. my regional school just doesn't have the draw out there, even for a student that did well in the first year and who has a personal/family reason for moving to the market. frustrating.

anyone have visiting year thoughts?
