Yes I understand but I have no other choice. I am desperate for help... No one can help because it doesn't fall into their speciality.

There is a lawyer referral section, and you can probably search by specialty to find someone who has knowledge of these kinds of issues.

They are not allowing me to take the time off. They are formally dismissing me from the program. I completed 5 year and I am in my last year where it is a year of rotations (internship). I have over 100K of student loans and invested 5 years of my life into this program. I would have to start from scratch if I want to reapply to another school. The dean of my school was really supportive of me and he believed that I have the didactic knowledge but he could not go against the school's appeals committee.

Your situation is unfortunate, but there is literally nothing more any of us can do. Re-read what everyone in here has said. At least a few people here have tried to direct you to where you can try to find an attorney. That is above and beyond what you should expect from a forum like this. Since it is Friday night, you have all weekend to research attorneys online. Make a list and start making calls on Monday.

I am in a pretty difficult situation right now. So what happened is I have been dismissed by my school (Public Institution) due to inconsistent academic performance. When I met with a faculty member, they said they denied because I have been inconsistent with my academic performance "wanted me to get my life back together before starting school again"

I would like to seek some legal advice. I have over 100k of student loans from this program and I feel that it is inappropriate to dismiss me at this point. It is my last year and I just need a 6 week extension to finish rotations.

Do I have a case and should I fight with the public school system? I have contacted disability lawyers and none of them deal with learning disability. The lawyers that deal with education law are way too expensive for me at this point. I also contacted lawyers for low income clients but most of them deal with criminal defense or bankruptcy or other civil matters but none of it would come close to my case.

I understand that you may not able to offer me advice but perhaps someone can direct me to somewhere who could? Should I seek an education lawyer or disability lawyer? Thank you very much!

I am open to private messages if anyone we need to discuss things privately.
