If you want to clerk, working on a journal isn't optional.

If you're already on it, it can't hurt anything to stay on it. It's nice thing to have, so might as well. Never know if you will always want to be a prosecutor.

At the DA's office I worked at this summer, the consensus seemed to be that clerking for one of the local trial judges was very helpful when it came to ADA applications to that office. However, I can't speak to how helpful a secondary journal is for landing a state trial level clerkships. Definitely couldn't hurt though.

Birdman wrote:Thanks, I am fully aware of that. But I don't have to clerk to be a prosecutor, and my career services adviser said clerking is a long shot as it is, considering I go to a tier II. I'll probably stay on to keep my options open, just having second thoughts.
Las Vegas clerking is an option for almost anyone in the top 20% + journal.
