appropriate use of OH?

Post by dreakol » Tue Aug 30, 2011 11:48 am

is it appropriate to visit a professor during OH and have them go over a hypo that you found online and answered, especially if it is your first visit?

Go talk to your professors during office hours about whatever. They are there to answer your questions. Just don't expect to be satisfied with the answer you get.

you can talk to Ps about A during OH as they're generally pretty helpful, even if it is some H you found elsewhere and worked through. your Cs though might S-U for a lot of s's and make it tougher for you to get in to talk to the P about that H or A or W...but to answer your Q, A like H can definitely be discussed with a P during OH imo.

Appropriate uses of OH:

"Oh, hello there!"

"Oh, I wasn't aware of that."

"Oh, ok."

Inappropriate uses of OH:

"Hello, oh, there!"

"I wasn't aware, oh, of that."

"Ok, oh."

the one that requires you to click on a link, wait for a page to load, and read a short sentence explaining the situation

Im my own man homie. Im not required to do shit.

Its rude as fuck to expect someone to do extra work to help you, when you could have easily made that extra work avoidable.
