I'm trying to finalize my 2L schedule and was wondering which class I should take first. For some reason the school decided to schedule both courses at the same time this semester so I can't take both.

This. Also, I
did take them both at the same time, and there's nothing in one you need to know in advance for the other. Doesn't matter at all.
Maybe choose based on which prof you like more?

If I take Evidence this semester then I can't take Crim Pro till next year cause they don't offer it in the spring.

cause there is always the chance that I can't get Evidence next semester....then I'm screwed when it comes to clerkship apps

Both are important law school courses, but evidence is more important, in my opinion, because most lawyers practice civil law.
In which area of law do you intend to practice ? Criminal or civil ?

Um, maybe. I've heard from a few appellate judges that they want you to have it, and I would think that it'd be even more important at the trial level.

Yeah, there's a difference between having to have it and having to take it 2L year. Fed courts is the same way.
