ConLaw is just a shitty class.

ConLaw profs are by far the most academic and least connected to real world legal practice. This would never happen in any class but Con. Dude probably didn't even consider how "to the Supreme Court" changed the prompt and made the answer he wanted inappropriate.

A lot of law professors are also just lazy with exams. I get the feeling that writing and grading exams is one of their least favorite things to do (which is probably why it's pretty universal that you're going to wait a month+ for grades--I doubt professors are actually spending a month grading them).
