I tried searching the site and didn't come up with anything concrete. Any supplement suggestions for these classes?

I got an A- in both classes I used law in a flash for and so I am going to make that a staple for sure--it works well with my life (can fit it in everywhere..while cooking, commuting, etc.) and I just found I worked really well with them. But I am wondering if there are any "staples" like glannon for civ pro

I found the E&E to be good for both of those classes. I wasn't a big fan of Chirelstein.

Really depends on the professor and what material they are teaching.
The only supplement I used for Tax was 26 USC. (I actually bought the chirlestien and didn't open it.)

Been skimming Chirelstein's fed tax at my sweet law library job (that supplements my shitty unpaid internship), and its rather concise and clear. If you liked his K's book, you'll like this one.

Resurrected to ask whether anyone has insight regarding editions of Chirelstein specifically - I just got the 9th for eight bucks at HPB, but the newest is the 11th. 9th was published in 2002. Should I return this impulse buy and shell out more for the newer one?

For Federal Income Tax, the E&E and the Emanuel's are both very worth it.

The Acing Federal Income Tax was a waste of buying, and the black letter outline was nowhere near as good as the Emanuel's.

Absolutely. Federal Tax Law changes more than any other area of law. Stuff I was doing in undergrad had changed by my masters and had even changed by law school again lmfao. The most recent code book, and the most recent supplements can make or break your grade in that class. A really great example is section 179 election. The limits have changed dramatically for tax year 2011 only. This year the maximum deduction is capped at $500k, (the highest ever, with a reduction for property in excess of 2M). In 2007 it was like 125k w/500k cap and in 2008 I think it changed to a 250k w / 500k cap. There is a huge difference in your exam answer between thinking you can take a 125k first year deduction and a 500k first year deduction.

btw I haven't read the Chirelstein, but just warning you that it is without a doubt woefully outdated.

FWIW, I have the 10th edition Chirelstein. I asked a few students who had both and said there was virtually no difference from the 10th to 11th. At least not worth buying it if you own the 10th. Not sure of your edition...
