how do you use that? sorry. newb here.thesealocust wrote:--LinkRemoved--timertimer61 wrote:how did you calculate?
Find the Z-score for the 90th percentile, which is 1.28. That means 1.28 standard deviations from the mean is the 90th percentile. We also know that a 3.6 is the 90th percentile, and thus 0.3 GPA points is 1.28 standard deviations, which means the standard deviation has to be 0.234375. Using that we simply find the Z-score for 95%, or 1.645. 1.645 standard deviations would be 9th percentile, so that's 1.645 times 0.234375.timertimer61 wrote:how do you use that? sorry. newb here.thesealocust wrote:--LinkRemoved--timertimer61 wrote:how did you calculate?
