Need some help understanding detainee jurisprudence

Specifically, I need help with the "big picture" of Hamdi, Hamdan, and Boumediene. If anyone can give me quick overview, I'd be much obliged. I especially interested in some sort of framework to apply them if I were given a question about the conflict in Libya.
