Hey everyone,

I am a 1L and just took a crim exam that was super difficult issue-spotter format. While I did spot many issues and analyzed them correctly, I made 2 or 3 mistakes as to the statement of law. For example, I thought accidentally kicking something was not a voluntary act. Do most professors take off points for wrong statements OR simply not grant you points for finding accurate issues.

I'd say most professors count off for glaring mistakes, but this doesn't tell you much. For example, my Crim prof was the only professor this term that specifically mentioned he did not subtract points for incorrect statements. All this aside, who cares if you made a mistake? At this point, there's nothing you can do. Find something else to think about.

Don't worry, even the highest scoring exams generally mess up something and miss issues. It depends on the prof, but as far as I can tell, you generally just don't get the points and can easily make up for them elsewhere on your exam.
