I know a lot of people study in quiet. I personally like to study with some music. I like a lot of stuff, but I have been listening to Gorrilaz lately for chill listening during studying, but I think I"m going to be listening to this guy more often.

I can't use headphones though... it needs to be background noise otherwise I'm too distracted and end up reading in rhythm to the music/not remembering what I read.

Judge me, but I find club remixes to be most helpful with my productivity. e.g. I listened to Imogen Heap's Hide & Seek Roksonix Dubstep Remix on repeat for like half an hour while I worked on more job applications. A few days before that, I was rocking out to Glee's Thriller/Heads Will Roll. But usually, because I can never think of / find enough of these kinds of songs to make a decent playlist, I just do whatever is on my iPod.

Trance. Lots, and lots, of trance. But only when outlining because it's a rote organizational skill. Otherwise, those squishy earplugs for complete silence.

I really like to listen to movie scores/soundtracks (with no lyrics). I usually pick slow ones, and my favorites are probably Moon and Atonement because they're relaxing/de-stressing.

+1 for no-lyrics generally.

I don't like classical music, so I go with Spanish guitar music and zydeco music.

Nothing buy Johann Sebastien Bach, and maybe some Native and Asian flute ensembles

I for the most part don't like trance, but Tiestos club life podcast helps me zone in like nothing else. Its also free, and you can download a new one every week from Itunes. I would highly suggest it if you like trance or like the feeling of being zoned in to something.
